Having a long and healthy hair it is a true struggle. It is easy to have a long hair (you just need to wait and in time the hair will be growing) but having also a healthy hair is not so easy at some may think.
I have the luck of having a thick hair by nature and I have always been asked how do I do to keep my hair as thick as I have it. But the truth is that my hair has not always been in a good shape. There have been times when I have struggled and forgot to take care of it like I should have.
Fortunately , I have had a good period lately and I was able to bring my hair back to it’s most glorious aspect J
It was not really easy to do it but it also was not difficult. There are some rules that I have followed strictly and I want to share these with you guys today.
- Keep yourself hydrated! It is important to understand the fact that what we put into our bodies it will definitely reflect on the outside (hair , skin, nails) so keeping your body hydrated will also help with the hydration and in consequence the health of your hair.
- Keep your hair hydrated! Even if the internal hydration helps with the health of the hair, it is also important to hydrate the hair on it’s own. That means that way we wash our hair is important. One of the most important aspects that you need to take into account is that hot water is dehydrating so washing or rinsing the hair with hot water will dehydrate your hair. It is recommended that we rinse our hair with cold water but if you can not do that (because it is not easy to do it), then, at least try to use warm water. Using a hydrating conditioner and mask will also help.
- Dry the hair with a towel!
- Do not use blow dryer daily!
- Use a heat protectant!
These would be the main advices that I would give anyone who tries to grow a long hair!
